Chemical Operator

Due to increased business needs, our Shannon based chemical manufacturing client is looking for an experienced Chemical Operator for an immediate start.

Chemical operators are responsible for handling raw materials, manufacturing chemical batches and loading bulk liquids. Regularly moving around the site, the role will involve indoor and outdoor work, including filling, loading and following the processes for manufacturing and transport of chemical products.

The contract will be offered on a 6-month contract on day shift (8:00am – 4:30pm) Candidate must be flexible to cover a later shift (11:30am – 8:00pm) if required.

Attractive hourly salary provided with chance to review.

The Role:

• Following procedure for Manufacturing, testing, labelling and loading product as outlined by quality department.
• Compliance with all company regulations, including Company Health and Safety policies.
• Filling/loading and unloading of chemicals into tankers/trucks for transport
• Forklift Driving
• Usage of pumps, valves, compressors, batch controllers and other machinery for liquid transfers.
• Waste management including Chemical and General waste.
• Stock taking and rotation.
• Flexibility to carry out same requirements in secondary Depot or on a customer facility.

The Candidate:

Requirements are beneficial, but not essential as full training will be provided.

• Experienced Chemical Operator
• Forklift Experience (In date license a bonus)
• Experience of other machinery advantageous (Teleporter/MEWP)
• Chemical Awareness Training/Certificate
• Familiar with handling corrosive chemicals
• Experience with PPE
• Familiar with safety data sheets for chemicals
• Familiar with requirements for the transport of hazardous loads by road
• Manual Handling training with practical experience of manual operations
• Computer Literate (MS Office and ERP systems)
