Due to continued growth, our client based in Shannon is seeking a Chemical Production Operator to join their team. The Chemical Production Operator is a vital member of a dedicated team responsible for handling raw materials, manufacturing batches, and loading and unloading bulk liquids.

The role involves regular movement across various areas on site, encompassing both indoor and outdoor work in the yard. This includes tasks such as filling, loading, and other operations related to the manufacturing of water treatment products and the subsequent transport of these products.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Follow procedures for Manufacturing, Testing, Labelling, and Loading as outlined by quality department documentation.
  • Adhere to Company Health and Safety Policies, complying with all Company regulations.
  • Perform filling/loading and unloading of chemicals into tankers/trucks for transport to customers.
  • Operate forklifts.
  • Use pumps, valves, compressors, batch controllers, etc., for liquid transfer.
  • Manage waste, including both chemicals and general waste.
  • Conduct stocktaking and stock rotation.
  • Possibility of carrying out similar duties at the Foynes Depot or on customer facilities.
  • The hiring company operates a shift system. Candidates would need to be flexible to cover shifts when needed.

 

 skills and experience:

  • Experienced Chemical Operator.
  • Forklift driver with an essential forklift license.
  • Experience with other machinery (e.g., Teleporter/MEWP) is advantageous.
  • Chemical awareness and familiarity with handling corrosive chemicals.
  • Completion of Chemical Awareness Training.
  • Experience using personal protective equipment.
  • Familiarity with pumps, valves, compressors, batch controllers, etc., for liquid transfer.
  • Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets for Chemicals.
  • Familiarity with the requirements for transporting hazardous loads by road.
  • Manual handling training and practical experience of manual operations.
  • Computer literate, proficient in software packages such as Word, Excel, and ERP systems.
