Our Client, a world leader in the Aviation Services sector, are currently recruiting an Accounts Assistant for their Shannon based site.  The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Finance and Accounting functions across Europe and Asia. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and committed individual with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adhere to strict deadlines.

Responsibilities will include:
 
Accounts Payable:
  • Process high volume of invoices
  • Ensure appropriate authorisation of invoices
  • Verify GL coding of processed invoices
  • Prepare the payment backup for vendors
  • Reconcile balances to supplier statements
  • Contribute to the efficiency of the function and assist with process improvement projects
Accounts Receivable:
  • Process sales invoices and credit notes
  • Assist with credit collection and liaise with customers on outstanding invoices
  • Assist with monthly revenue analysis preparation
  • Weekly bank reconciliations
Other duties:
  • Assist in the month end financial close process for all legal & operating entities
  • Investigate and explain monthly variances to budget and forecast (revenue, costs and margin)
  • Work with department leads to maintain the rolling forecast
  • Various accounts assistant duties as required e.g., VIES & Intrastat submissions
 
Candidates will require:
  • At least five years’ experience in a similar role
  • A practical knowledge of accounting principles
  • Strong systems experience (Ideally SAP but not required)
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adhere to strict deadlines
  • A team player and the ability to communicate with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to pro-actively communicate with third parties
