Our Clare based client is seeking to hire an Assistant Finance Manager with substantial skills in Business and Financial Management.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager and working closely with the Senior Management and Line Managers, the Assistant Finance Manager role is part of the wider commercial development and financial management team of the Organisational structure.
 
The Assistant Finance Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the finance portfolio which covers three sites, and provide supervision, guidance, and support to the Finance team.
 
The main duties of the Assistant Finance Manager include:
  • Manage the finance team proactively and productively.
  • Assist the Commercial Manager with finance updates, resource planning, project management etc.
  • Attend meetings in place of Commercial Manager where necessary for financial updates.
  • Report directly on any issues regarding finance staff, workloads, and/or procedures that may affect deadlines and, efficiencies of the business.
  • Financial Reporting to include Monthly Management Accounts, Budgeting, Forecasting.
  • Lead weekly meetings with Finance team and escalate any matter to Commercial Manager.
  • Data Analysis including newly developed Balanced Scorecard Model on KPI’s and to embrace the expansion of the organisation.
  • Provide a comprehensive efficient and effective finance service to the organisation to drive continuous improvements.
  • Manage the production of yearly audit files with the Commercial Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with Internal and External audits, complying with all financial and audit regulations and legislation.
  • Assist with performance reports as part of annual performance reviews.
  • Assist with Strategic Plans across the Organisation.
  • Provide financial support and expertise in relation to the management of Capital Projects.
  • Deliver ad hoc projects that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Represent the organisation on official engagements and events as required.
  • Provide analytical information and support to the Management Team.
 
Requirements/Essential Skills and Attributes:
  • Qualified to degree level in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Finance team, with experience in a senior capacity.
  • Have a strong work ethic with a flexible can-do attitude and approach.
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of Company and staff information.
  • Results driven, ability to deliver on specific objectives and targets.
  • PC literate with proficiency in all Microsoft products, with advanced Excel & Power BI.
  • Finance Software Packages experience. Sage, Payroll, Agresso, Oracle an advantage.
  • Excellent project management, decision making, communication and influencing skills.
