A Financial Accountant position is now available with a Shannon based Client, a long-established manufacturing multinational.
 
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will provide ongoing support to the Finance team to maximise finance performance.
 
Responsibilities include:
 
  • Responsible for the AP function including maintaining good Vendor records, AP accruals, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Responsibility for the monthly company load and relevant mapping
  • Hedge & Cash forecasting including monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Responsibility for maintaining an accurate and timely Fixed Assets/CAR LOG
  • Assist the Finance Manager with preparing inventory schedules
  • Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of weekly and monthly financial packs, schedules and budgets if required
  • Responsibility for the Weekly payroll journal process ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Dealing with supplier queries and preparing monthly creditor reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly & weekly payment runs
  • Allocate cost centre to all purchase invoices and ensure appropriate PO and back-ups attached to invoice and post purchase invoices to sub ledger system
  • Prepare cheque runs for disbursement of invoices & maintain expense claim re-imbursement process.
  • Provide back-up for weekly payroll.
  • Prepare and submit CSO & other statutory returns including intra-stat, VIES
  • Other adhoc queries.
 
Required Qualifications & Experience:
 
  • Business related Honours Degree
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) or part qualified with good audit and/ or industry financial accounting experience: Ideally at least 12 months relevant work experience (either in an industry or practice environment)
  • Experienced in either medium/ large company audits and or industry month end close process
  • Experienced using ERP system
  • High Level proficiency in MS Office including Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills – with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, and maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times
  • High level of professionalism and integrity
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Willingness to be flexible and a driver of change
  • Uses creative approaches to achieve goals
  • Strong work ethic.
