Our Shannon based Client has an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified Accountant to join their team.
 
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, the new Financial Accountant will take responsibility for various aspects of month end, statutory and tax reporting requirements; assist the finance department with the collection, processing, recording, reconciliation, and reporting of financial data and also verify the validity, completeness, and accuracy of source documentation.  The Financial Accountant will ensure complete and proper records of revenue, expenditure, assets, and liabilities, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Month-end activities including group reporting, journals, invoicing, balance-sheet reconciliations and running month end reports
  • VAT return preparation & submission
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual National statistics submissions
  • Complete weekly bank reconciliations and provide weekly cash flow
  • Support in assembling data for quarterly and annual Tax filings and interim and final statutory audits
  • Agreeing monthly intercompany balances
  • Maintaining Finance user facing documentation e.g., Expense forms and Delegation Of Authority
  • Document end to end finance processes and assist with their review and improvement
  • Ad hoc projects and reports and other tasks as required by Manager
 
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Newly Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Good understanding of month end and year end procedures
  • Enthusiastic, process driven Accountant with a proactive approach to driving projects
  • Excellent communicator and Team player
  • Proven ability of working under pressure / to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work on your own initiative / Attention to detail / Process Improvement
  • High proficiency in Excel / Strong IT Skills
  • Experience of ERP Systems
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work and use time efficiently.
