Our Shannon based Client, a pharmaceutical and diagnostic distributor, are looking for a new Logistics and Warehouse Manager to join their team.  Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Logistics and Warehouse Manager will provide Leadership to the Warehouse team, and coordinate the logistics of their products through Europe, Asia and Central America.
 
The Logistics & Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the management of the physical warehouse in Shannon including goods receipt, inventory management, production supply and shipping & delivery, and the coordination of shipments and deliveries from Europe throughout the world, including the processing of shipments through the ERP system, provision of customer documents, Freight Forwarder management and problem resolution. Both aspects of the role have a heavy emphasis on regulatory compliance within pharmaceutical and medical device fields, and require a focus on Customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • The effective Management of the warehouse and all other associated activities.
  • The Motivation, and personnel issues of all members of the Logistics and Warehouse teams.
  • The implementation of Management strategies and plans.
  • Reporting on trends and Analysis of the logistics and warehouse data such as stock accuracy, freight spend etc.
  • Inventory management, including daily and monthly cycle counting, preparation of inventory reports for management, analysis on materials consumption and identifying trends for improvement of materials management.
  • Ensuring all regulatory requirements are adhered to, e.g., temperature mapping / monitoring, compliance of service providers such as freight forwarders.
  • Promote and support business excellence leading by example. Developing partnerships internally with the various functions.
  • Creative and forward thinking, identifying opportunities to improve organisational systems and processes.
  • Exchange of information with sister companies, and developing strong relationships with international peers.
  • Goods receipt, storage, preservation and Handling and associated activities to ensure the effective, efficient and compliant handling of materials throughout the supply chain from supplier to customer.
  • All logistic associated activities required for the preparation of shipments throughout Europe and worldwide including Asia Pacific countries, USA, Central America and Turkey, preparation of Invoices, shipment documentation and all associated documents for customs compliance at home and abroad.
  • Preparation of consignments and paperwork for shipment/drop shipment.
  • Safe storage and transport of temperature sensitive and Hazardous products.
  • Liaison with carriers to determine economic freight rates and ensure safe and timely arrival of the consignment. Freight tendering and benchmarking as part of cost management.
  • Ensuring relevant record keeping for Logistics and Warehouse areas.
  • Ensuring quality requirements are maintained throughout the process and in compliance with certified standards.
  • Writing and maintaining procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations as well as regulatory compliance in all activities.
  • Ensuring the Logistics and Warehouse staff are fully trained and skilled in fulfilment of their roles.
  • Identifying processes requiring risk assessment and/or validation and assisting processing the same.
  • Process mapping and streamlining of Logistics and Warehouse processes.
  • Preparation of Operation’s Goals and Objectives.
  • Ensure product Identification and traceability.
 
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management with work related experience in a senior role in a medical device, pharmaceutical company or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media, tactful, confident at all levels, internal and external.
  • A proven track record in leadership, including the ability to coach, assess, evaluate, develop, motivate and empower others.
  • Passion for data, analysis, trends, reporting. Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write clearly and informatively: Technical documentation, routine reports, correspondence, procedures and workflows.  Present numerical data effectively.
  • Demonstrate aptitude for process improvement.
  • Excellent IT Skills – and knowledge of SAP would be a distinct advantage.
