Due to significant business growth, we now have an opportunity with Mid West based Supply Chain Integrator for an Operations/Freight Team Leader to join their growing team.   The Operations/Freight Team Leader will take charge of day to day operations within a challenging and exciting department which includes customer service teams and external partner network. 
The Essential Duties include but not limited to following areas:
The Team Leader is responsible for the day to day operational performance of the carrier network.
Must have a knowledge of national and international import/export regulations and must be able to effectively troubleshoot any issues that may arise in international freight transportation.
Coordinate internal teams on recommending optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment or frequency;
Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems;
Ensure all partners in the supply chain are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations;
Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements with process documentation, customer service logs, and training logs
Manage the resolution of any arising problems or complaints, deal with then in a controlled proactive way
Manage the recruitment, selection, development and discipline of flexible customer focused teams.
Experience:

Proven managerial working experience in Freight (and Logistics would be an advantage).
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, customers, andservice partners.
Proficient in standard logistics software
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
BS in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain or similar formalqualification would be an advantage. However, we are willing to take account ofwork experience in place of formal qualifications.
Ideally the candidate will have managed mid-size to large sized customeraccounts
