We are currently recruiting for an excellent new opportunity of Shipping Co-Ordinator with long established multinational Aviation client.   Position will be offered as full time permanent, subject to probation and will report to Warehouse Supervisor

Essential Job Functions

Responsible & accountable for all material that is routed through Shipping Department for onward shipping to various destinations as per instruction from Customer Representatives.                                                                                                                                

Shipment types to include the following:

       •     Shipping of unserviceable components to repair / overhaul facilities. 

       •     Shipping of removed U/S core exchange units to  vendors & customer suppliers.

       •     Shipping of unserviceable & serviceable material back to customer stores.

       •     Shipping of material to vendors.

       •     Shipping of all hazardous material in accordance with air, road & sea freight regulations.

       •     Shipping of Co-Mat / Ferry Flight shipments.

       •     Shipping of material sales orders to customers. 

       •     Shipping of all Departmental requests.

  • Coordinating on site requests for transport solutions.

Other duties to include but not limited to:

  • Ensure all components are tagged correctly and all required data is completed & legible in line with company & customer requirements.
  • Responsible for the creation of the appropriate shipping documentation for all shipments such as Goods dispatch invoice and AWBs for various couriers
  • Develop a close working relation with customer on site representatives and be aware of each customer’s specific requirements on how they require their material shipped.
  • Liaise closely with production staff with regards to issues that may arise with tagging, quantity, condition, location of components
  • Ensure that all parts that are deemed to be Fail on Fit (FOF) are shipped as per the relevant procedures.
  • Ensure all core units for business & customer exchange orders are shipped within the time limits as set down by the applicable vendor to reach a zero late fee policy.
  • Ensure that our inventory system is updated following shipments of serviceable material from warehouse or customer stock.
  • Responsible for the booking of freight forwarder services to ensure accurate delivery times for our shipments as well as the most economic routings for our customers.
  • Be fully aware & trained in the procedures around air freight security ensuring that company’s designation as a “Known Consignor” of air cargo is not compromised in any way.
  • Responsible for the control & administration of the company scrap process for components that are scrapped on site
  • Will be required to work towards achieving key measurements (KPI’s) regarding the performance of the shipping department.
  • Must always adhere to company policy with regards to shipping procedures & be aware of the relevant sections of the M.O.E & S.P.M (Company procedure manuals)

Candidate Requirements

  • Non-EU/EAA nationals require current and valid permission to work and reside in the Republic of Ireland
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in Shipping / Warehousing type role ideally within the aviation industry is required
  • Qualification in Logistics / Supply Chain process is desirable
  • Strong IT Skills with experience working with modern ERP Systems
  • Have a high level of commercial awareness.
  • Demonstrates and is passionate about delivering solutions for our customers.
  • Have a strong work ethic, be reliable, focussed, self-motivated with a positive attitude, and be very customer service oriented.
  • Must display flexibility with regards to working hours and may be required to deal with out of hours queries on shipping issues.
  • Experience of working in a Lean / 5S environment.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail
  • May be required to train & work in other areas of the materials dept to meet operational needs.  

Typical Working Conditions

  • Primarily based in Shannon however travel may be a requirement of the role
  • PPE is provided by the company, and its use is mandatory in the performance of your work
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and any other shift patterns as required
  • Must satisfy and maintain airport security requirements
