We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Automation Engineer with long established multinational pharma client in the region.  
JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for site automation support across site which includes: production support, new projects, product introduction, upgrades and qualification support.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Assist in troubleshooting hardware and configuration problems and failures across site.
• Develop the skill set of the process operators and supervisors.
• Implement procedure and controls to ensure systems remain in compliance.
• Support in the development of new processes and new product introduction.
• Provide automation cost estimates for new product introductions.
• P&ID markup review and approval.
• Partake in HAZOPs and give input from an automation perspective.
• Develop and/or review Validation documents.
• Software developing and testing as required.
• Conduct & partake in FAT and SATs as required.
• Review automation cost estimates.
• Project execution, man loading and scheduling.
• Supervision of automation projects during commissioning.
• Review and approve automation change controls.
• Review interlocks and alarm protocols.
• Support qualification activities.
• Provide out of hours’ automation support and on-call.
• To maintain your workplace and area of work in a clean and tidy condition during and after any work completion. (i.e. clean as you go).
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
• B.Sc in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation or Instrumentation with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
 
SKILLS:
• Ability to design, configure, program and commission hardware and software control systems using Delta V, Wonderware, BMS systems and Siemens Automation platforms.
• Knowledge and understanding of hardware and software drawings in relation to E&I and P&ID’s.
• Project Management.
• Interpersonal / Communication.
• Conflict management / Negotiation.
• Structured decision making.
• Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Project, CAD, PLC software).
• Report preparation & presentation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously
• Proven analytical and problem solving skill.
• Ability to build effective working relationships throughout the organization.
 
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience with Siemens, Wonderware and Delta V applications.
• Experience in a similar role in an FDA regulated environment
• Knowledge of system validation.
• Pharmaceutical / Chemical industry.
• Project Engineering and Management.
• Installation projects, process safety and validation.
 
KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledge of API plant operations.
• Knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements (EHS, Quality, GMP)
• Knowledge of HAZOP’s and Risk Assessments.
• Technical knowledge of equipment and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of ATEX regulations (EX / IS systems).
• Knowledge of process control systems (Delta-V, SCADA, BMS).
• Solid knowledge of cGMP and other applicable regulations.
