Job overview

 

  • Primary role is to optimise availability, reliability and capability of a variety of manufacturing equipment.
  • This requires an in-depth understanding of a variety of manufacturing equipment to optimise the set-up.
  • Working with a cross functional team including Process Engineers, Equipment Engineers, Quality, Production, Supply chain and Maintenance.
  • The role is a technical role, requiring problem solving through data analysis using good engineering/scientific methods focusing on equipment performance.
  • A hands-on approach will be required.
  • Working on deep dive projects as well as practical problem-solving, continuous improvement projects.

 

Duties and tasks

  • Ensure Safety is number one priority in all work carried out.
  • Be responsible for the availability, reliability and capability of production equipment.
  • Identify risks and causes to personnel and equipment safety and production OEE.
  • Make timely, informed decisions that are data-driven, and aligned with goals, constraints, and risks.
  • Responsible for the standards associated with the equipment.
  • Define asset maintenance plans and monitor adherence to the plans on a continuous basis.
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Establishing and regular reporting of equipment metrics.
  • Lead Equipment improvement projects – Continuous improvement culture.
  • Practical problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Follow through on action logs, project milestones and presentations.
  • Looking for new innovative technologies
  • Liaise with cross-site colleagues to establish best practices.
  • Work with maintenance team as both a mentor and to understand problems associated with reliability.

 

Criteria skills

 

  • Appropriate engineering or science qualification. NFQ Level 8 or higher.
  • Understanding of OEE, FMEA, CBM, RCM and other techniques associated with the reliability of manufacturing equipment.
  • A background of working with equipment from an engineering and/or maintenance perspective is a critical.
  • Some experience in Six Sigma and lean systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to analyse data critically
  • Excellent communication, people and team working skills
  • A team player with a can-do, pro-active attitude and a passion for improvement.
  • Good understanding of health and safety standards as well as quality standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
