Our Shannon based client, a leading supplier of precision sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing, are currently looking for a Fixture Design Engineer to join their team.
 
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Fixture Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, fabrication and maintaining of new and old fixtures; processing production parts to engineering specification; while focusing on opportunities for cost reductions and quality improvements.

Responsibilities will include:
 
- 
Create, design and layout all custom fixtures i.e., weld, assembly, test and inspection fixtures.
 
- 
Interpret calibration results and troubleshoot any issues related to calibration.
 
- 
Create necessary technical procedures.
 
- 
Inspect and repair fixtures as necessary to ensure consistent quality of production parts.
 
- 
Document fixture repairs and modifications.
 
- 
Modify existing tool designs and document changes.
 
- 
Preparing and maintaining Bill of Materials.
 
- 
Creating production drawings for new parts & prototypes.
 
- 
Answer any technical queries operators may have.
 
- 
Cost reductions and methods to improve production.
 
- 
Follow new parts/prototypes from start to completion.

 Required Qualifications & Experience: 
  
 | 
- 
Candidates must have a Degree in Engineering.
 
- 
3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering and design, familiarity with checking fixtures would be an advantage.
 
- 
Strong experience in Creo or Solid Works.
 
- 
Knowledge of FMEA.
 
- 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and managers.
