We have an excellent new opportunity for Senior Facilities Technician with superb Co. Clare based multinational client.  Working as part of the Facilities, Health and Safety team, with responsibilities across local site and also supporting Dublin and Cork based sites. Role includes responsibility for managing various continuous improvement projects onsite, project management with contractors, relevant bodies, including County Councils and internal stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities/duties include:

Facilities

  • Selecting contractors to carry out relevant works onsite, managing budgets, SLA’s etc.
  • Prioritise various Facilities Projects, propose, present, plan, and execute.
  • Cover Leave ensuring the maintenance schedule on site is carried out in line with the projected timelines and maintain relevant documentation of same.
  • Liaise with key contractors and service suppliers to ensure that scheduled works are completed on time and within budget.

EHS / Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities and implement actions to enable improvements and efficiencies.
  • Promote and drive energy saving projects.
  • Ensure that the buildings, grounds, assets, and equipment are safe to use for all employees
  • Participation in the Chemical Spill Team & Emergency Response Team – Training will be provided for these roles on site.
  • Assist with Health and Safety initiatives and programmes as required.

Compliance

  • Promote, support and adhere to all safety, environmental and quality related policies and procedures.
  • Assist in financial processes, budgeting, pricing ensuring that all financial management requirements are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

General

  • Ensure all documentation and procedures are up to date and compliant with all legal requirements and ISO14000 environmental standards.
  • Assist in the procurement of vendors and services as require ensuring optimal service vs cost for the business
  • Assist in planning and execution of annual shutdown plans for the facility and organise maintenance projects as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering with relevant project management experience.
  • Qualified/Certified Electrician with project management experience will also be considered.
  • Proven experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirements.
  • Proven project management skills are essential.
  • Strong Electrical skills and competency
  • Flexible approach to work with ability to work well in a team and outside main working hours in some circumstances.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft suite, AutoCAD skills an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Forklift licence an advantage – training can be provided.
