Our client, a Shannon-based aviation company in County Clare, is in search of an experienced EHS Specialist. The position involves overseeing and coordinating various aspects of the EH&S program, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and continually improve robust EH&S management systems, ensuring that supporting policies, procedures, and work instructions are appropriate, comply with legislative and contractual requirements, and align with industrial best practices and performance standards.
  • Conduct effective monitoring, testing, reporting, auditing, and review of EH&S management and performance.
  • Assist in the completion and submission of AER and EPR reports to the Environmental Protection Agency.
  • Investigate EH&S incidents, identify necessary actions to prevent recurrence, and liaise with relevant regulatory bodies as required.
  • Manage ISO standards (14001:2015, 45001:2018) and coordinate mandatory statutory training.
  • Collaborate closely with and support site business units on HS&E associated projects.
  • Assist in managing the Emergency Response Team site function.
  • Ensure that all employees are well-versed in the EH&S aspects of their roles.
  • Hold employees accountable for EH&S standards and processes.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Essential qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • A proactive problem solver who thrives in a small, close-knit team and maintains a positive 'can do' attitude.
  • Excellent leadership, training, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages.
  • Proactive with strong time management skills.
