As the EHS Officer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing Environmental, Health & Safety, and Compliance functions. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with established processes and procedures within the company.

This role presents a unique chance to contribute significantly to the organization's safety initiatives and be an integral part of its ongoing success.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with EHS conditions as set out in the company's licenses/permits.
  • Liaising with Local Authorities/EPA.
  • Advising and assisting site management in drafting and communicating Method Statements, Safe Plans of Action, and Tool Box Talks.
  • Ensuring that all accidents are reported, recorded, and investigated, and that suitable notification is given to the Directors, Health & Safety Authority, and Insurers as required.
  • Producing weekly and monthly compliance reports and any other required reports.
  • Conducting regular safety inspections, environmental assessments, and quality audits to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Responsible for both training internally and externally
  • Communicating with staff/management on safety matters.
  • Reviewing and continuously improving the company's safety policies/risk assessments.
  • Supporting Management with clear, efficient communications.

 

Requirements & Qualifications: 

  • Experience  in EHS & Compliance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Quality Management, Diploma, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO Lead Auditor) are a plus.
  • Competent in preparing environmental returns and interacting with local and national regulatory bodies.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Experience in ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 beneficial.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient PC user with excellent administration skills.
  • Diligent and detail-oriented with the ability to problem-solve.
