Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator:

Job Profile:

Monitor and coordinate allocated elements of the Company’s EHS programme, detailed below, along with associated continuous improvement projects.

Due to the extent and multi-disciplined nature of the job responsibilities degrees of emphasis will be required.

 

Purpose of the job:

 

Monitor and coordinate allocated elements of the Company’s EHS programme, detailed below, along with associated continuous improvement projects.

 

Key Performance Areas i.e., main aspects of the job broken down as follows:

Health & Safety

1. Carry out a continual program of Risk Assessments which is undertaken to identify hazards calculate the risks & provide a risk evaluation summary with an agreed risk control action plan.

2. Help coordinate a stringent Health and Safety Audit program to the following listed standard which is reported & controlled through the IEPRO audit system

 3.  Carry out technical /engineering investigations of accidents which might occur, this involves preparation of technical reports for the HSA on serious accidents, development of plans to address formal improvement notices and implementation of improvement programs and controls to prevent reoccurrence.

 4. Oversee the on-going review, maintenance and/or development of the Company’s Safety Statement.

 5.  Help Co-ordinate on a monthly basis site Safety Committee consultations made-up of site representatives to discuss review activities of a health & safety nature.

 6.  Maintenance of the Accident log, Hazard Notification & Shannon Safety Management System.

 7.  Monitor legislation and industry best practice and advises on its impact to site policies and procedures along with management of compliance matters.

 8.  Raise Health and Safety issues to resolution through the Company’s Hazard Notification system.

 9. Provide Health and Safety advice of a practical and/or technical nature as required to management and staff of the Company.

 10. Liaise with and facilitate the work of external specialists engaged by the company.

 11. Assist the Site H&S Manager in developing and maintaining Management Programs and Health and Safety Plans for continuous improvement, to ensure compliance with current and future legal, regulatory and corporate requirements
