eFlexes Staffing & Recruitment are currently seeking to hire Chemical Process Technician for our customer based in Shannon, Co. Clare.

JOB OVERVIEW
- Safely operate and maintain acid surface treatment chemical process equipment in strict adherence to operational standard work instructions 

- Monitor surface treatment chemical process and test the quality of products produced to prove compliance to specification

- Conduct experiments, tests, and analyses for a variety of purposes including process improvement and new product introduction

 


DUTIES AND TASKS:

- Safely operate and maintain acid surface treatment chemical process equipment in strict adherence to operational standard work instructions 

- Monitor surface treatment chemical process and test the quality of products produced to prove compliance to specification

- Conduct experiments, tests, and analyses for a variety of purposes including process improvement and new product introduction
- Operate and monitor process equipment in accordance with operational standard work instructions in full compliance with health and safety procedures and protocols

- Perform inspection and maintenance of process equipment in accordance with operational standard work instructions and manufacturer’s recommendations.

- Maintain accurate and clear documentation that proves process compliance to both internal and external regulations.

- Continuously develop safe, robust and efficient processes with strong capability and high yield

- Prepare technical reports and presentations that summarise results of completed experiments

- Use problem solving tools to develop solutions to resolve process and quality issues

- Document and communicate learnings

- Must be willing to work flexible shifts in line with business requirements up to and including a 24/7 arrangement 

 

 
CRITERIA AND SKILLS:
- Diploma/degree in science, chemical engineering or related field

- Previous chemical safety, processing and manufacturing experience of 3-5 years

- Experience with acid chemical treatment processes would be a distinct advantage in either immersion or flow through systems.

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

- Attention to detail and ability to communicate observations, challenges and solutions with relevant stakeholders

- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within cross functional teams

- Lean 6 Sigma, process improvement knowledge and/or green belt certification is also a distinct advantage
