The position of Assistant Reservations Manager is an exciting opportunity to join a Clare based organisation within the Tourism sector.
 
Based in Ennistymon, Co. Clare, the successful applicant will report to the Group Reservations and Revenue Manager and work closely with the Management team to develop a World Class Visitor Experience. 
The Assistant Reservations Manager will be responsible for supporting the Group Reservations and Revenue Manager and their team within the region.
 
The main duties of the Assistant Reservations Manager include:
 
  • Maintain and develop the bespoke booking and capacity reservations system and contribute to the development and maintenance of this booking and revenue management system.
  • Monitoring the day-to-day reservations activities and managing the team using the organisations standard operating procedures and learning systems.
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate reservations records including large volume of group bookings and ensure that the reservations / bookings team are completing all assigned duties.
  • Responsible for loading and maintaining rates, specific packages within the booking reservations system.
  • Assist and develop Capacity management strategies. 
  • Supervise group and events reservations.
  • Monitoring the telephone manners and etiquette and the general performance of the reservations team on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that coach park arrivals are monitored on a daily basis.
  • Ensure the processing and monitoring of trade booking payments.
  • Ensure that the tour operator series bookings, ad hoc groups, educational visits and familiarisation trips are co-ordinated.
  • Ensure that the relevant management and capacity management reports are completed.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with key trade partners.
  • Liaise and Support the Sales and Marketing department in organising various projects, to include the promotions of events, digital campaigns.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all customers internal and external.
  • Coordinate and participate in conducting training session to all staff on all aspects of the reservation system, rates, capacity and other duties as required.
  • Delivers on specific projects that may be assigned from time to time
  • Ensure that the Company is complaint with policy and procedures.  
  • Supports and works in conjunction with the Group Revenue and Reservations Manager, and with other teams to ensure best practice throughout all reservations and yield management operations.
 
Requirements/Essential Skills and Attributes
 
  • Proven track record in Reservations with at least 3 years management experience.
  • Diploma / Degree in a similar or related discipline in tourism / visitor management, business or related field is required.
  • Experience in PC based systems and reporting systems technologies.
  • Analytical and commercial in approach.
  • Flexibility and a strong problem-solving approach to issues.
  • Experience of managing people in a small to medium size enterprise.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of teamwork & motivation skills.
  • Proven organisational skills & experience in multi-tasking.
  • A commitment to excellence, continual innovation & world class service delivery.
  • Ability to perform job functions to standards under pressure and with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of visitor and Company information.  
  • Applicants should have a full, clean driving licence
  • Please note: The post will be operational on seven days a week basis according to business requirements.  Hours of operation vary seasonally.
