Our Clare based client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Retail Inventory Controller to join their team.
 
Reporting to the General Manager, the role involves managing retail inventory levels and inventory management systems as well as maintaining stock levels and coordinating the logistics of orders and transfers across all business units.  The Retail Inventory Controller will also analyse supply chain data and generate purchase and pricing reports.

Responsibilities include:
 
  • Developing and implementing inventory control systems and practices, to improve efficiencies and processes.
  • Liaising and negotiating with vendors and suppliers to ensure the quality of stock purchases.
  • Ensure retail Oracle procurement system information is current and correct. 
  • Coordinating the logistics of purchase orders, stock transfers, deliveries, and processing same.
  • Forecasting supply and demand requirements to ensure stock availability.
  • Tracking inbound and outbound orders to prevent overstocking and out-of-stock (OOS).
  • Analysing and reviewing supply chain data to identify and resolve issues.
  • Manage stock wastage and obsolete stock from the business.
  • Generating purchase and pricing reports and supply chain analysis.
  • Performing regular stock takes, management of third party stocktake service provider, performing cycle counts and reporting any issues.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and yearly retail inventory (valuation/movement) reports to the Finance Manager.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors as required.
  • Manage the Retail Epos system and back of house Site Manager system, reporting issues to IT service desk.
  • Accomplish department objectives by managing staff, planning, and evaluating department activities.
  • Recruiting, training, supervising and motivating staff as well as organising rosters and managing labour costs. Manage Payroll and Clockwise system.
  • Establishing, tracking, and reporting on KPI’s and adhering to budgets.
  • Maintaining the highest level of visual merchandising and store conditions.
  • Take part in relevant training.
 
Required qualifications and experience:
 
  • Previous experience in a similar role will be essential.
  • Excellent working knowledge of inventory management software and retail management systems.
  • Exceptional understanding of inventory management practices and cycle counting.
  • Good analytical and logistical thinking abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Fluent English, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills.
