As IT Support Engineer you will become part of the talented IT team that provides guidance and support to internal and external customers. This position requires self-motivation to achieve whatever needs to be done in the best interest of the customer, while adhering to the company values.
The IT Support Engineer will be a generalist covering a broad range of support areas without necessarily specialising in any one discipline. The Company operates primarily in a Windows based environment running MS SQL Server, and the new Support Engineer will be expected to have the ability to deploy, diagnose and support this environment.

This is a key role with the following responsibilities and tasks, but this list is not exhaustive:
  • Investigating and Responding to Helpdesk tickets within SLA’s
  • Ownership of issues where necessary
  • Leading technical investigations
  • Diagnosing problems through log, events analysis etc. and implementing workable solutions
  • Conducting hardware investigations
  • Performance of customer upgrades and installs
  • Liaising with customers
  • Attendance and input at customer handover meetings
  • The Company IT Environment Support – External and internal backups, iis site creation and
  • maintenance, server builds, hardware & software support for The Company laptops, application
  • licensing and inventory controls, business applications support, access controls, Internal
  • server monitoring & support
  • IT Security – Firewalls. McAfee EPO Orchestrator, support documentation, cyber security
  • principles, SSO and IdP installation and configuration
  • 3rd party vendor management and assessment of proposed solutions
  • Microsoft Office 365 Admin Centres, including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Azure Active
  • Directory, Security and Compliance
The ideal candidate will be a strong self-starter with the following attributes:
  • A degree in an IT discipline is essential
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
  • Well-developed people skills, capable of building strong working relationships
  • Attention to detail combined with an ability to see the bigger picture
  • A positive outlook and constructive way of working with others
  • Professional personality with a “getting things done” attitude
  • 3-5 Years’ experience operating within a multi-disciplined support team
  • Familiar with Project Management concepts
  • Experience with change control frameworks
  • A working knowledge of SQL and/or DBA experience would be a distinct advantage
