Eflexes Recruitment and Staffing Solutions are currently recruiting for Operator /Line Leader (evening shift) with our well-established client based in Tuam, Co. Galway. The postition will be offered on an intial 9 month contract basis.


Job Purpose

As process operator in our business unit you will be working with other members of your team to ensure that our product is manufactured to the highest quality within specified agreed turnaround times, meeting our customers’ needs.  
Assist the shift coordinator to achieve the daily production schedules and deliver customer service in terms of quality and supply.
Provide guidance and be a source of information for operators and support groups in the area.
Support continuous improvement in all aspects of everyday operation.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

-Maximize yield and throughput within your designated work step
-Ensure minimal customer complaints within your area
-Maintain quality and GMP standards
-Ensure that housekeeping and health and safety standards are maintained
-Adherence to S.O.P.s
-To coordinate daily work directions for manufacturing personnel to achieve line target;
-Ensure people know what station they are working at. Generate weekly work step rotation plan.
-Line staffing is set up in an optimum fashion to achieve line output.
-Review station performance at regular intervals and take necessary corrective action to hit relevant metrics, e.g. output, yield, mispacks, etc.
-Organize cover for working through breaks
-Escalates line issues in a timely fashion and oversees the correction of same.
-Assist the shift coordinator in supporting and developing action plans to achieve the departmental goals.
-Coordinate shift holidays in conjunction with shift coordinator.
-Enhance the morale of manufacturing personnel by;
-Acting in a fair and impartial manner
-Have positive Influence on fellow workers
-Identify outstanding performance and acknowledging the same
-Ensure that the manufacturing personnel follow the appropriate procedures. 
-Understand all operations support systems including traceability and documentation systems.
-Provide feedback for use in performance appraisals and periodic coaching of manufacturing personnel. 
-Ensure safe working practices are employed and that Near Misses, Recordable and First Aid levels are minimized.
-Ensures that the required levels of BAPP observations are completed on a weekly basis.
-Ensures that all work step rotational requirements are completed as per EH&S requirements.
-Be proficient in Emergency Response requirements such as fire drill, roll call etc.

Education and Experience:
Technical Competencies:
-Knowledge of procedures and practices and a complete understanding of fundamentals in a functional area, and working knowledge of other related disciplines.
-Process knowledge to a level that can contribute to trouble shooting downtime issues 
-Good PC skills, e.g. working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.  
-Complete understanding of quality requirements and systems
-Proven ability to work in a team environment
-Strong interpersonal skills essential
-Ability to communicate and share information, build trust and respect, build strong work relationships.
-Take responsibility and work off own initiative
-Detail and results focused
- 2-3 years of Manufacturing experience
