Warehouse Operative – Shannon
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operative with a Shannon-based client. This position is a permanent role offering a highly attractive package for the right candidate.
Safely load and unload freight vehicles using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT).
Receive and process goods inwards.
Efficiently store stock in designated warehouse locations using a Reach FLT (with racks up to 7 meters high).
Accurately pick and pack orders from stock, following the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
Prepare orders for dispatch, including pallet building.
Input transport bookings into the freight system for tracking and management.
Coordinate with domestic transport companies to arrange timely collection and delivery.
Communicate effectively with external customers, suppliers, and contractors.
Collaborate with internal departments, including operations, finance, and management, to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Participate in regular stock-taking and cycle counting procedures.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment through consistent housekeeping duties.
A valid and up-to-date Counterbalance and Reach FLT License.
Current Manual Handling Certificate.
At least two years’ experience working in a warehouse environment, particularly in fast-paced settings involving groupage loading.
Proven ability to accurately pick stock with strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in warehouse management systems for data entry.
Strong command of both written and spoken English.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with personnel at all levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook and Excel.
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment with minimal supervision.
Strong customer service orientation and commitment to meeting customer needs.
Flexibility to undertake additional duties as required.
Experience with freight IT systems.
Full, clean driving license.
Dangerous Goods Awareness Training (desirable).
Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30, with flexibility for overtime as needed.
Permanent contract, subject to a six-month probation period.
