Warehouse Operative – Shannon

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operative with a Shannon-based client. This position is a permanent role offering a highly attractive package for the right candidate.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely load and unload freight vehicles using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT).

  • Receive and process goods inwards.

  • Efficiently store stock in designated warehouse locations using a Reach FLT (with racks up to 7 meters high).

  • Accurately pick and pack orders from stock, following the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.

  • Prepare orders for dispatch, including pallet building.

  • Input transport bookings into the freight system for tracking and management.

  • Coordinate with domestic transport companies to arrange timely collection and delivery.

  • Communicate effectively with external customers, suppliers, and contractors.

  • Collaborate with internal departments, including operations, finance, and management, to ensure smooth warehouse operations.

  • Participate in regular stock-taking and cycle counting procedures.

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment through consistent housekeeping duties.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid and up-to-date Counterbalance and Reach FLT License.

  • Current Manual Handling Certificate.

  • At least two years’ experience working in a warehouse environment, particularly in fast-paced settings involving groupage loading.

  • Proven ability to accurately pick stock with strong attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems for data entry.

  • Strong command of both written and spoken English.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with personnel at all levels.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook and Excel.

  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment with minimal supervision.

  • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to meeting customer needs.

  • Flexibility to undertake additional duties as required.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with freight IT systems.

  • Full, clean driving license.

  • Dangerous Goods Awareness Training (desirable).

 

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30, with flexibility for overtime as needed.

 

Contract Terms:

  • Permanent contract, subject to a six-month probation period.
