A unique opportunity has arisen at our client in Shannon for a Principal Team Lead to become an integral part of their team.

 

Overview

The Principal Team Lead will assume a crucial role in overseeing and reporting on daily production activities, ensuring adherence to work order plans. This responsibility aims to achieve established production targets aligned with the strategic direction of the site. Effectively manage Production team members. Duties will include absence management, performance management, mentoring, and coaching. Maintain overall responsibility for late-stage customisation in Oil & Gas. This includes managing both the scribing and shaping cells.

 

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage Production team members. Duties will include absence management, performance management, mentoring and coaching and ensuring a flexible multi-skilled workforce through targeted cross training.
  • Ownership of day-to-day KPI’s and reporting out on key actions while coordinating with support functions.
  • Responsible for driving World Class Manufacturing activities in the area e.g., process confirmations, Practical Problem Solving (PPS), Continuous Improvement, 6S, 3C’s and team development Actively mentor shift leads and wider team members, to allow them to deliver in these areas.
  • Manage and oversee the delivery of production activities, particularly within the finishing and shaping cells, through visible presence on the production floor.
  • Responsible for daily promotion of Visible Felt Leadership (VFL) and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Responsible for the management and reporting of all day-to-day production activities, along with Daily, Weekly & Monthly reporting of productivity metrics.
  • Ensure effective communication across shifts, through daily process walks, whiteboards, meetings and any other appropriate channels.

 

Requirements:

  • Third Level qualification (QQI Level 7 or higher) in Engineering, Lean Systems, Manufacturing, or equivalent.
  • Lean 6 Sigma, process improvement knowledge and/or green belt certification is also a distinct advantage.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a related role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • A motivated individual with strong can-do attitude with a strong ability to think “outside the box”.
  • Strong people management skills with a proven ability to lead, communicate and appropriately influence team members.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to communicate at multiple levels and across various mediums within the organisation.
  • An openness to new methodologies and ability to follow-up on these independently.
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects through to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of JDE, MES, DAS and Geneo systems is desirable.
