We are currently recruiting for Purchasing Administrator (maternity cover) with excellent Shannon, Co. Clare based Aviation client.    Position will be offered contract for up to 12 months, working minimum 25 hours week or ideally full 39 hr week and will report to the Senior Buyer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Researching and evaluating potential suppliers to ensure high-quality options.
  • Negotiating with suppliers to secure favourable alternatives, prices, and conditions.
  • Efficiently preparing and accurately entering purchase orders into the system.
  • Proactively expediting and monitoring order progress with suppliers.
  • Maintaining exceptional service levels for both internal and external suppliers.
  • Regularly communicating order status updates with internal customers.
  • Assisting in supplier appraisal and monitoring processes.
  • Building and nurturing positive relationships with suppliers, forwarding agents, and couriers.
  • Swiftly resolving supply problems, general queries, and payment invoice issues.
  • Ensuring the supplier database is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Assisting in the preparation of requests for quotation.
  • Developing comprehensive knowledge of the materials being purchased.
  • Maintaining an organized and precise purchasing filing system.
  • Demonstrating cost-consciousness and striving for ongoing savings.
  • Performing general clerical duties as required.

Candidate Profile:

  • 3 - 5 Years+ experience in a similar position preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience of using an ERP system is essential 
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in supplier sourcing practices, including researching, evaluating, and liaising with suppliers.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Highly motivated and capable of working independently, taking initiative when necessary.
