Due to the continued success of our client in the logistics industry we are looking for a Purchasing/Planner/Buyer to provide direct support to the effective operational running of the  Production and Process team in Shannon.

Med device experience and knowledge of the ISO 13485 standard would be an advantage.

Key Duties:

  •  Sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts & components.
  • Identifies raw material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules.
  • Analyse data to determine factors that affect price. 
  • Develop a strong process inline with cost, quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
  • Coordinates and follows up with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services.
  • Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with Manufacturing and Suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules whilst maintaining strong purchase order GMP.
  • Maintain Item Master and manage Engineering changes .
  • Inventory Management: Support reporting, inventory parameters, inventory reduction and inventory turns increase targets. Product Life Cycle management (end of life component management).
  • Participate on cross functional teams on identified projects (examples New Product Introduction, Lean events etc.)
  • Monitor performance of suppliers and collaborate on demand analysis planning
  • Contribute to and support cost saving projects
  • Continually support the Quality Management System

Key Skills & Experience

  • Requires a Level 8 Degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, numerical and organizational skills are required
  • Interpersonal and presentation skills required for internal and external liaisons with Suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Effective negotiation skills and experience in negotiation to drive cost reduction initiatives and CI goals.
  • Proficient IS System Skills including knowledge of Microsoft office packages (Particularly Excel).
  • Will demonstrate initiative to take on additional responsibilities

Total Remuneration Package dependent on Experience
