Team Lead

An exciting new Team Lead position has arisen with a long-established client based in Shannon, Co. Clare.  This is a great opportunity for candidates with a background in a Production environment to develop their leadership and people management skills and would particularly suit a Team Lead who enjoys coordinating and motivating a team.

Reporting to the Operations Manager the new Team Lead will take ownership of day-to-day KPI’s and reporting on key actions while coordinating with support functions.  The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the Business Unit achieves the required production, service and productivity targets.  

This position is a day shift: 7.00am – 3.30pm, and offers an excellent salary and benefits package in addition to career development opportunities.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Driving World Class Manufacturing activities in the area e.g., process confirmations, Practical Problem Solving (PPS), Continuous Improvement, 6S, 3C’s and team development
  • Responsible for daily promotion of Visible Felt Leadership (VFL) and adherence to health and safety standards
  • Key deliverables include managing production and ensuring productivity targets are met, while championing all aspects of World Class Manufacturing, and actively driving improvement in both quality and consistency of products and production processes, through the implementation of the production system
  • Driving daily actions around key metrics in conjunction with Shift Leads
  • Ensuring all shifts in the Business unit are aligned to operational goals and targets
  • Supporting all staff members in the Business Unit achieve maximum KPI’s
  • Lead transformational projects where required

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong people management skills with an ability to lead, communicate and appropriately influence team members
  • Past experience in similar role in Manufacturing environment, lean, process improvement knowledge
  • Green belt certification a distinct advantage
  • An openness to new methodologies and ability to follow-up on these independently
  • A motivated individual with strong can-do attitude with a strong ability to think “outside the box”
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to communicate at multiple levels and across various mediums within the organisation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • An appreciation of world class manufacturing tools and techniques
  • Strong IT skills with knowledge of JDE, DAS and Geneo systems an advantage.
