Staff Nurse Full Time (Mix of Days, Nights, weekend’s shifts)- Co.Limerick Nursing Home 10 minutes from the City Centre.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
- To develop and oversee the operation of person centered holistic care
- To ensure all care delivery is research based.
- To lead the care team through example and act as a role model for best practice.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The person should be a Registered General Nurse preferably with Geriatric experience. He/she should demonstrate a strong commitment to and empathy for the complex needs of older people.
Excellent clinical knowledge and a keen interest in further education are essential.
The person should demonstrate an interest and capacity for the development of care, which meets the multifaceted requirements of this client group. A global understanding of initiatives aimed at enhancing care is required as is the ability to translate such initiatives to practice.
Strong interpersonal skills are paramount. The individual should be a good communicator and negotiator. He/she should possess the necessary ability to assess both individual, team and service developmental needs, formulate goals and set in place strategies to achieve identified outcomes.
The person should have a strong awareness of professional accountability and demonstrate an understanding of his/her responsibilities in relation to standards of care.
The person will have the drive, initiative and enthusiasm to carry out the duties of the post successfully.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT:
- To maintain a high standard of clinical knowledge by reading relevant literature and journals.
- Attend courses and seminars as requested to enhance and develop skills.
- To participate annually in performance appraisal with the purpose of identifying developmental needs and setting performance targets.
