HealthcareDirect are currently looking to employ Staff Grade Occupational Therapists who are looking for a job share opportunity in Dublin City. The role is in a community hospital/ step down facility. You will be based in Dublin City. You will work in a fully supported environment with input from the Occupational Therapy Clinical Manager. Salary is commensurate with experience.

This role would suit staff grade Occupational Therapists with 18 months + experience who is interested in working in the private sector and looking to move towards a senior role. The job share opportunity would be on a rotating weekly schedule of 2 days / 3 days. The right candidates would be interested in developing supervisory and service development skills. The successful candidates will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Deliver a comprehensive Occupational Therapy service to Adults and Older Adults consisting of physical, sensory and cognitive assessment and intervention
  • Devise and carry out appropriate assessments e.g. seating, hoist & slings, functional and meaningful activities of daily living
  • Provide 1:1 and group intervention to patients
  • Assist individuals in becoming independent following physical, social, emotional and mental-health difficulties
  • Complete home environmental assessments to support safe discharge as required
  • Experience in supervising new graduate Occupational Therapists or therapy assistants
  • Able to work with other Healthcare Professionals such as Nurses, Social Worker, Speech &Language Therapists, Physiotherapists etc
  • Liaise with patients’ families and other relevant agencies
  • Active engagement in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) e.g. Staff Training Days
  • Participate in the service Annual Performance Review System

Prerequisites:

  • Must have at least 18 months experience
  • Experience in rehabilitation and older adults is a bonus
  • Experience in providing Occupational Therapy intervention to the adult population
  • Degree qualified
  • CORU registration
  • Membership of the AOTI
  • Full driver’s license and access to a car
