Due to significant business growth, our Clare (Shannon) based Global client has an immediate opportunity for Distribution Centre Manager (Medical Device). 

The Role

Responsibilities include the setup and operation of a new Medical Device Distribution Centre including workforce planning, materials management, compliance, and distribution. based Shannon, Co Clare, Ireland.

Responsibilties

  • Setup and operate the distribution centre to GDP standard, including upgrades to our current facility to medical standard.
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, retention, training, and development of staff.
  • Implement quality management process to ensure delivery of KPI targets as per client Service Level Agreements.
  • Manage all inbound and outbound freight service providers.
  • Ensure all EHS, GDP, and ISO requirements are recognized, realized and maintained.
  • Support the Inventory Management process including direct participation with planning teams of customers.
  • Ensure the DC is aligned with business and Customer current and future business needs.
  • Work in cross-functional teams internally, Customers, and 3rd Party Service Providers to deliver best in class results associated with Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Safety.

Education and Experience

  • 3+ years medical device warehousing experience.
  • Degree or equivalent in related field. MBA preferred. Will consider suitable experience in place of academic qualifications.
  • Experience with ERP and Advance Planning Systems.
  • Familiarity with GDP, ISO, HPRA and/or FDA requirements.
  • Ability to develop, coach, and lead a team in the execution of DC activities.
  • Able to communicate clearly, simplifying the complex to make it understandable and compelling to all levels of the organisation in both written and oral forms.
  • Six Sigma Certifications, Supply Chain Certification (APICS), or an ability to drive and apply continuous improvement processes.
  • Working knowledge of operations financials is desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills with an aptitiude for planning with an exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex situations into simple working solutions.
  • Proficient user of MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
