Duty Operations Manager:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Operations Manager to join the team at a renowned visitor attraction in Co. Clare.

As the Operations Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and management of the visitor attractions, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards.

The Duty Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operation with a focus on visitor experience, health and safety service and delivering a world class visitor experience.

 

Priority areas for the Duty Operations Manager:

  • Is to assist in the operational and health & safety aspects of the visitor experience.
  • In conjunction with the Head of Operations ensure that the key objectives of the organisation are met by managing workloads that maximise the use of resources.
  • Providing line management to the operational team and work closely with other BU Managers
  • Ensuring a safe world class visitor experience is provided and helping to embed a culture of a great place to work through trust, respect and safety.

 

Specific duties & Responsibilities:

  • The role includes opening and closing of the attraction.
  • Supervise accommodation and oversee the skills development of operational staff.
  • Ensure awareness of site facilities, special activities, and promotions.
  • Anticipate and meet visitor needs while maintaining professionalism.
  • Implement operational procedures and provide direction to employees.
  • Utilize Clockwise system for daily checks and record-keeping.
  • Assist in roster preparation and training planning for supervisors and staff.
  • Manage health and safety for both staff and visitors, including crisis management.
  • Oversee service delivery to ensure a world-class visitor experience.
  • Conduct daily checks and maintain records for various operational aspects.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot business critical systems as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, including cash handling.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Act as main point of contact for any issues and deal with capacity management.
  • Contribute to project management and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Develop initiatives to enhance visitor experience and seek feedback.
  • Assist with marketing, special events, and educational content development.
  • Coordinate maintenance, inspections, and facility upgrades.
  • Monitor facility performance in energy usage, water usage, and waste.
  • Participate in outreach activities to support associated tourist attractions.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

 

Requirements/Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory/management experience in reservations
  • Ideally holds a Diploma/Degree at Hetac Level 7 in hospitality, visitor management, or related discipline
  • Strong problem-solving skills and flexibility in approach
  • Experience managing people in small to medium-sized enterprises
  • Excellent teamwork and motivation abilities demonstrated
  • Proven organizational skills with multitasking experience
  • Commitment to excellence, innovation, and world-class service delivery
  • Enforce Clare Tourism Development DAC standards, policies, and procedures
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in inclement weather
  • Proficiency in operating plant and equipment, including driving vehicles
  • Comfortable working in or near water and traveling on a small ferry boat
  • Capable of performing under pressure while maintaining security and confidentiality
