Production Supervisor- Shannon, Co. Clare
eFlexes Staffing & Recruitment have an immediate opportunity with a multinational client based in Shannon for the position of Production Supervisor to join their Operations Support Team on day shift.
This exciting new role will form part of a new Operations Support Team and suit an individual looking for a new rewarding challenge.

General Responsibilities:
Working to optimise the day-to-day running of a production team and associated services to ensure on-time delivery of product in line with agreed cost and quality parameters.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
·         Working closely with a diverse team (20 employees approx..) specialising in operational support functions such as component receipt & Shipping, product cleaning/coating application, material control, logistics and customs & excise to ensure orders are delivered on time and within budget.
·         Daily troubleshooting and the implementation of a hands-on approach towards the minimization of machine downtime.
·         Leading the team to ensure achievement of key indices that include customer deliveries, labour efficiency, overtime management, absenteeism and machine downtime, in line with agreed targets.
·         Recruitment and development of team personnel
·         Manage communications within the team area to ensure all personnel are fully aware of company goals and performance.
·         Provide performance measurement and feedback to Production Leader.
·         Develop and manage the personnel to ensure sufficient skilled employees are in place to meet operational requirements.
·         Adhere to all company standards, policies, and procedures including health and safety requirements.
·         Develop a climate of employee participation within the team.
·         Provide leadership and encourage team members taking responsibility. 
·         Provide the necessary support in the training and development of team members.
·         Work with Engineering and Quality on the identification & implementation of productivity improvement programs.
·         Facilitate all approved initiatives from other teams which impact on the jobholder’s team
·         Ensure partner functions are aware of production requirements in relation to preventative maintenance, new process equipment, personnel, etc, and agree planned delivery to meet company goals
·         Work flexibly with the team lead role as it evolves over time.
·         Driving continuous improvement activities within the area
·         Ensure work areas are kept clean and well organized under Lean manufacturing best practices
 
Person Specification:
·         4+ years proven experience of leading a team within a production environment
·         Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and barriers. Direct working experience with industrial furnace / coating equipment would be beneficial.
·         Demonstrated planning ability. 
·         Ability to work closely with engineering, maintenance and other functional departments
·         Knowledge of Lean manufacturing
·         Ability to manage personnel and complex activities.
·         Experience of Materials management processes desirable.
·         Diplomacy and negotiating ability.
·         Degree in business, management or engineering field desirable.
·         Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
·         Proven strong Team leading ability as well as a major contributor to projects and programs.
·         Proven ability to drive continuous improvement through a team using leadership and motivational tools
