This position will be involved with quality systems and will work closely with factory management to identify improvement activities, as well as support long term corporate quality projects. This individual will report directly to the Divisional Quality Engineer. 

  • Quality Management Systems 
    • Support PTC Windchill Closed-Loop Quality Management; Non-Conformances (NC), Temporary Deviation Request (Variance), Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA), or others as implemented at our clients facility. 
    • Support compliance with ISO9001 and EN12966.  
  • Quality Assurance Tools and Process Improvement
    • Review and analyse existing processes and equipment operations to improve overall product quality, manufacturing capability, process control, and scrap reduction.  
    • Analyse and present data/information to support improvement activities. 
    • Participate in Design FMEA and Process FMEA projects. 
    • Provide training to work groups on topics such as 8-Step, DoE, SPC, FMEA, Quality Control Plan, etc.  
    • Support lean activities through active participation for those items that may affect quality. 
  • Leadership and Performance

    • Assist with training of Quality Assistant/Technician.  
    • Work effectively as a team member; make suggestions for process and product improvements; communicate effectively with team members. 
    • Complete projects with quality work in a timely manner. 
    • Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with our clients Safety Policy and HSA standards. Items may include the following: safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear, and others as determined necessary by our clients Environmental Health and Safety Department. 
    • Support supplier quality activities such as first article inspections and new supplier qualifications.   
    • Travel to suppliers to perform supplier audits and supplier visits to resolve quality issues.  
    • Work with suppliers on performance improvements activities utilizing APQP tools such as: 8D, SPC, FMEA, Quality Control Plan, DoE, PPAP, etc. 
    • Provide technical support for test and calibration. 
    • Perform other duties as assigned or needed to support the efforts of Our client. 

Qualifications

  • Applicants must have min. 3 years experience working with a quality team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Mechanical Engineering, or similar degree or equivalent from a college or technical school.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, and self-motivation are required.
  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business communications, governmental regulations, industry standards, and technical procedures, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to management, employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to organize workload and prioritize schedule according to company plans.
  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Familiarity with our clients products and internal processes and computer systems is preferred.
  • Working knowledge/experience in Lean Manufacturing, Quality, and Six Sigma implementation.
  • Computer skills to include experience with Word, Excel, and Power Point are required. 
  • Familiarity with the use of various quality tools such as 8-Step, FMEA, DoE, SPC, and various problem-solving tools is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. Be able to stand or sit for the entire shift.
  • Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle record will be checked. Ability to travel overnight to domestic and international locations.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
