A major global Logistics Company requires a Customs Brokerage Lead Agent for their office in Shannon, Co. Clare.   

The Customs Brokerage Lead Agent will be involved in all aspects of the brokerage department, providing both the timely movement of freight, and exceptional customer service.  This is a rare opportunity to boost your career and work with a major global logistics company and excellent employer.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Allocate workloads within your team to ensure smooth operations at all times
- Mentor the team and ensure each agent reaches required training levels
- Prepare customs documents for international transportation
- Ensure accurate and timely customer billing
- Liaise with customers to ensure international shipments meet required service standard
- Work with team on KPI standards and continuous improvement processes
- Review Customs Stat1/Operational Reports 
- Meet all operating process standards and AEO regulations
- Build relationships with customers and governmental Customs organisations
- Monitor Duty deferment usage and levels, and licence / visa applications.
- Meet compliance to all regulations including internal Operational Process Standards

Essential requirements for this role include:

- Good knowledge of customs brokerage process and systems  
- Strong market and competition knowledge
- Good knowledge of customs legislation, especially with regards to classification, valuation & origin
- Understanding of ocean, transcon, and air documentation process
- Knowledge of air, road and ocean transport
- Good knowledge of incoterms
- Hazardous Materials Certification
- Fluent English both written and oral

- Effective interpersonal skills with the proven ability to listen, comprehend, and communicate clearly and concisely.
- Good Microsoft Office skills 
- Strong organisational skills
- Emotional resilience
- The ability to work on their own initiative
